The Last Lecture - a book written by Randy Pausch ( deceased ) , describing the life of Professor Randy Pausch of Carniege Mellon University during his last years after discovering that he was suffering from last stages of pancreatic cancer. It was never an idea of Randy Pausch to come up with this book just before his death but much persuasion from a good friend of his , Jeffrey Zaslow that Randy finally decided to give this book a go and eventually which became a best seller in April 2008 - two months before his death.The book , well written together with Jeffrey Zaslow , gives us the indepth life of Professor Randy and sharing together with the reader that it's never too late to achieve ones life dream if all we can and should do is hold on to our dreams and persevere on working towards that dreams that life has for us or that we longed to achieve . It starts off from his childhood years , his strict yet loving upbringing , how he struggled on no matter what the obstacles and challenges he had to face just to achieve his goals and dreams . One of his wildest and most cherished dream , was to become a imagineerer with Disney Land and you know what , he eventually moved on and did become an imagineerer with the Disney company with the right frame of mind and alot of determination and right contacts . To make a long story short , Randy never made his sickness an obstacle to him to move ahead in life sharing his dreams with his family , students , friends and even mentors who taught him his stairway to success and living his best dreams but also in sharing every single minute and moment of whatever was left of his life for him and his loved ones around him .
