A mother's anguish

Please don't be mistaken and misled with the title of this blog and by the way - it has nothing to do with my own mom so please do not ass-u-me . I was reading a magazine this afternoon , lazing around what more with the off days from work - thanks to the festive season . An interesting article caught my eyes - The Marriage That Never Was ! The article was written in by the mother of the girl ( supposedly a bride that she did not become ) , a chronological of events of how a marriage match making begin and eventually the whole event of a wedding taking place which was eventually avoided and duped months before the actual wedding date . It read " my daughter met Mr X through a marriage broker who happens to be the aunt of Mr X . Things were going perfectly well between this two individual and Mr X mum and myself , started making plans for a wedding - of course with both sides approval " . After this part , the mother mentioned that both her daughter and Mr X got engaged and registered on the very same day of the engagement ! ( my personal view - I think this is a dangerous move - getting the marriage registered and engaged on the very same day ???!!! - what do you think ? ) The article went on to say at another part " Mr X mother got too involved in all of these petty issues just because Mr X is the only son/ child " ; " Mr X being thirty one years of age should be able to think and decide for himself that marriage is not a game nor a bargain hunting but rather the very essence of life and the future between two individual to live as one ! "
So - just to make a very long story short - soon after the engagement and civil registration - things went downhill between the both of them because of Mr X's mother interference until the church pastor's on both sides got entangled in the situation as well . At the end of the day , all calls , emails , voice messages etc.etc.etc went unanswered and from then on all plans for a wedding was cancelled ( lucky thing it was four month before the wedding date ! ) .
My heart really goes out to this young lady and I can truly understand her anger , sadness , resentment and hatred that she may hold against this jack-ass !
So to you my dear young lady - don't worry as I truly believe in my heart that you will eventually meet a better guy than this Mr X , who will treat you as the queen of his heart alone and not of anyone else ( even the mother I hope ! ) , who will respect you and love just as you are.
