Dear friends and bloggers alike , just two nite's ago , I had the privilege of watching a live musical performance by the British West End production and cast of Disney's Beauty & The Beast which is presently having it's run for the very first time here in Kuala Lumpur at the KLCC Plenary Hall . I must say that they have truly displayed a splendid and remarkable yet a colourful performance that just kept the crowd anticipating for more humour and adventure practically the whole nite thru. With it's ever sweet voice of Belle harmoniously rendering the opening song sound so rhythmic and sweet sailing together with the backup singers which is made up of the town folks casts singing along. Then comes along the ever so proud and arrogant character of Gaston with his pitch black Elvis looking hairstyle and showing off his biceps and triceps to not only the village maidens but also to the audience as well . And of course you have the rarely roaring sound of the Beast each time when he walks in the shadow of the curtain light backdrop stage reflecting his huge build body in the dimly lighted stage .I must tell you it's truly amazing with all the high tech sound effects and gadgets ( yes gadgets used for the automobile and bar scenes ) , colourful backdrops following the scenes including the forest , castle , bar and village scenes and not forgetting the in tune singing too by Belle , Gaston , the Beast , Mrs Potts , etc.etc.etc - was truly remarkable and creative thinking . But the character that actually ' stole ' the show for the nite was none other than the talkative and merry making golden chandlier . Yup the candle stand guy by the name of Lumiere with his gay moving dance and body movement which got the loudest applause towards the finale of the show when the cast was introduced to the audience at the closing . And yes , they was the wrestling scene too in the rain ( stage effect ) at the castle balcony by the Beast and Gaston and not forgetting the whirlwind part when the Beast turns into the ever handsome looking prince charming in the arms of Belle and I must say , I indeed enjoyed the show to my heart's content and will definetly rate this musical show giving it a ten out of ten marks . BRAVO and splendid job to you West End !!!
